What do you get when you mix science with a love for fashion? Why tazi Alexandre of course, the designer behind the Alexandre Skins & Fashion store. Tazi, a biomedical engineer by trade, with a penchant for fashion, saw an opportunity to turn his love for fashion into a thriving business model. A seasoned resident, tazi Alexandre has been around the grid since May 2006, creating an array of styles and tastes for fellow fashionistas of SL.

Alexandre Skins & Fashion is certainly the place to shop if you’re looking for that special something that hasn’t been hashed out a million times over by the super icons of fashion; because between you and me, he’s still a ‘best kept secret’ that devote fans have been following, but they’re certainly not advertising.

Tazi’s designs cater for both men and women, and the range is truly exceptional. Not only will you find casual pieces, but the more elegant cocktail dress or tuxedo for that special night. There is also a range of costumes from the naughty nurse to the mischievous cowgirl to make any costume party a success. From high fashion to grunge pieces, Alexandre Skins & Fashion has something just for you.

“I like to design pieces for every occasion and not to niche myself to anything in particular. It’s a way to stretch my creativity and to take inspiration from a variety of sources.”

Clothing options for the guys are well crafted, with each piece superbly sculpted for a relaxed and carefree appearance; where looking good means that you’re not looking like you’re trying too hard. The Clochard men’s jacket is sure to be a wardrobe favourite; high in styling and totally irreplaceable.
There is also a range of skins and shapes, and you should check out tazi’s latest release, ‘Nancy’. She is different from the norm, with a form that is voluptuous and full. Nancy has large eyes and glossy lips. The full pack comes with five makeup options, eyebrows, eyes and shape.

Are you inspired to find a little shopping bliss yourself? According to tazi, “I have a group that you can join; it will cost you L$220. Which is a very small amount, but it entitles you to updates, freebies, discounts, gifts and prizes for random winners. I like to reward loyal followers. I would not be enjoying the success that I do as a designer if it were not for my fans.”

The store inworld is grand, with two floors stretching over a large area. “Yes, I’ve made plenty of room to keep adding to my collection. I just love fashion and design, it is a passion. In this way, I have created plenty of room to keep adding so that my clients can look forward to even more exciting pieces that are still coming.” That is certainly what we love about our Designer of the Month, tazi Alexandre – the passion that he brings to his designs!
