Amacci is a well known and well respected brand in SL and for good reason!

Scandinavian native, Carina Larsen is an incredible designer with a wide range of talent. In her shop you can find: Hairs, Skins, Shapes, Makeup tattoos, Jewelry, Lingerie, Poses & Animations as well as a huge collection of Eyes. She’s had plenty of time to explore and perfect her art too! When Carina joined SL in December of 2006, it was out of sheer curiosity. She had read a newspaper article about a girl who was designing and selling things in this 3D world so she had to see it for herself.

A year later, in December of 2007, she opened her very first shop. It was very small, but she had 10 unique eyes to sell. She kept working on her eye creations and before long had over 100 and opened a much larger store which she called "InSight Eyes". After this, she went on to try out poses and animations and since she had experience using Poser, this was pretty easy.

With more products to sell besides eyes she decided to rebrand her store and in the summer of 2008, it became Amacci.

Next she became interested in creating shapes for both men and women. A few jewelry pieces made it into the mix as well. After that was hair and then women’s skins! Her most recent product line are makeup tattoo layers. She believes: “They gives the user some great possibilitys to change their look.” And she has a variety of tattoo layers: teeth, lips, eye makeup, eyelashes and blush.

Carina states “My background is in mechanical engineering, web design, and computer graphics, so wasn't new to designing in 3D or working in Photoshop. I also sketch and paint in RL. So I guess I have a mixed artistic and technology background that suits for this kind of work quite well :)”

Her main focus is on her hair selections. She often gets requests for more hair styles. While she doesn’t take custom orders she is always open to suggestions on what she should make. Her favorite styles are long, flowing locks and making them realistic as possible.

In the future, Carina has many ideas of what all she would like to create. She plans to continue making more hair and skins and is particularly focused on avatar items such as those mentioned as well as eyes. However, she is very interested in clothing design and one day when there are at least 34 hours in the day she plans to give it a shot!

She has to this point worked alone in her shop but it has grown to the point she is considering hiring a personal assistant. Finding one or even out-sourcing some photo works would free up time for her to design more product!

Carina does not forget who helps her to be as successful as she is: “I always try to take time for my customers, if it were not for them, there would be no Amacci!” She finds her inspiration everywhere so has a pen and paper at her side at all times in case she needs to jot down some notes. Writing lists and making notes are among her favorite past times!
