Moolto Designer presents Lion Jonesford and LionSkins

I have watched Lion Jonesford’s climb to fame since she opened LionSkins. It has been quite the journey for her and seeing every new skin’s success and the desire of SL models to wear them, has been fascinating. The quality of her skin has always been incredible but if possible they have just continued to get better with age! From one fashion show to the next, it has been an enjoyable experience to see how Lion pushes her self with each new release.

Ella Quinsette recently did an interview with Lion to show us the inner workings of this amazing designer. Lion was first invited to SL by a RL friend. It didn’t take her long to find that the typical dancing and meeting routine of new residents was not enough for her active creativity. She was ready to leave SL when she was stopped in her tracks by a beautiful lady avatar. Trying to keep her jaw from dropping to the floor, she asked this lady many questions and the lady was kind enough to answer. Lion was soon the proud new owner of the necessary AO and much better quality skins and clothing. Finding the perfect skin for her avatar at a reasonable price proved to be a daunting task and within one week, Lion had decided to create her own. After two months of working tirelessly in photo shop, Lion finally had a skin she was happy with and a couple of weeks later “LionSkins” was open.

When asked: How do you hope your creations make your customers feel? Lion answered “ I really hope my products help my customers to express their style and their emotions and to really show people their personality.”

She believes her product is unique because she has “real life experience of air brushing custom artwork on motorcycles, people and for television programmes as well as for various Harley Clubs. To begin with I would first make my canvas in photo shop to get a good idea of how the design may look and what may need to be altered so because of this it was a natural progression when starting to create skins in Second Life.”

Lion finds her inspiration everywhere she looks and in her experiences from both the real world and this second life.

Ella asked Lion about some of her favorites. “The Real Life model that inspires me the most would have to be Kate Moss. She’s not afraid to be different and often shows her wild and free side which I can relate well to. My favorite fashion era in Real Life has to be the 50's. I just love everything about it.”

“Hardworker, fair, artistic, sexy, wild and most importantly FREE” is how Lion describes her Real Life! This inspirational designer is one to watch as she continues to grow and develop beyond her own expectations.

She is not one to readily share her future plans however: “All I can say is watch this space. I never speak of my future plans or ideas as I love to give the element of surprise to my customers. Also I have so many things in the works that I'm never sure which project will be finished first.” And when asked if she had anything else she would like to include her answer was:

“Tell me your blood group, and I will tell you more secrets.”
