Rissa, Introduce yourself to us:
"I am a professional print/runway model and instructor in SL and In RL I am a stay at home mom of a 4 year old little girl and I am from New Jersey, USA"

Tell us more about your Second Life:
"I discovered Second Life through a friend I had on Facebook. I admit the first couple of days in Second Life were a bit frustrating and challenging trying to figure it all out, but once I got the hang of it, I was hooked. About a month of discovering SL, I started looking into fashion and modeling and quickly signed myself up for classes. I haven't looked back since and I am still loving every minute of it. I have always had a love for fashion, but being a stay at home mom, I usually am just in jeans and a t-shirt, so being able to dress up my avatar in SL is super fun for me!"

Tell us about your passion, vision and goals…your activity in SL...
"My true love in Second Life is modeling and fashion. Being able to express yourself however you want and customizing your look to be unique is really fun. I have dedicated myself to this and I take it seriously, and I keep a good balance of this and my RL. I also love teaching as well and helping out models who are trying to get started in SL. I believe in paying it forward, so I love to pass on my tips and tricks I have learned to new, eager to teach students."

How do you think your SL life plays a role in your RL and what it means to you...
"My Second Life and what I am doing in it right now is truly an extended part of who I am. It gives me avenues that I do not get in RL to create and explore. I have enjoyed setting goals for myself and then working at them to achieve them. I remember when I first started as a model I would go to the Calendar Models sim and look at the wall with all the pretty faces up there and dream of being one of those girls someday. In July I had that dream come true and became Calendar Model of the Month! I am also sooo honored and excited to be a semi-finalist for Miss Moolto and a finalist for Miss Bliss. If I am given the chance to be the next face of Miss Moolto, I will give it my all to be a positive role model to women and to help out as many people as I possibly can everyday."

What do you see as your greatest achievement or the greatest event/happening since engaging in SL?
"Besides becoming a Semi-finalist for Miss Moolto and Miss Bliss, and being honored with other contests I have won, I would say my biggest achievement for me was the day I was able to do a runway show on my new computer I had received as a gift from my partner. Since I started modeling in SL, I was on a very old PC and it did not run SL well. I had so many issues with walking, lag, and crashing all the time that it nearly became impossible for me to even do runway shows. However, i never gave up and I just tried my best. In October of this year however, I did my first show on my new computer and I was able to get through it without any problems at all. My partner and I were almost in tears because it was truly a very special moment for us and it felt good to be able to finally prove to myself I could do it."

What do you see as the biggest challenge for business people and in particular women in SL?
"I think the biggest challenge business's in SL have is being able to stand out from everyone else and being limited to the amount of publicity they may have for it. I also think copy-botting has become such an issue in SL and it truly makes me sad that people would do this to such hard working individuals. The biggest challenge for women in SL, I feel, is being looked at as something other then a sex object. We have come a long way in RL with this, but in SL I have noticed that many women are treated with very little respect and are harrowed with words and gestures. However, I feel women are powerful and strong and are very influential especially in SL, So i know we can handle it all and stand up for ourselves."

What inspires, motivates and energizes you?
"My true inspiration in my life is my daughter. Whenever I look at her everything that is bad in my life or anything I am worrying about all goes away and I am truly in awe that I have such a wonderful gift. She energizes me everyday to step it up and set good examples for her.
In SL, my friends I have met inspire me always to be kind and considerate and to remember, there is a real person behind these pixels we have created."

What is your inspirational message to the Women of World?
"Stay true to who YOU are. Don't ever compromise your happiness for someone else. Don't compare yourself to others and pick yourself apart because every single woman is unique, special and beautiful in their own way."

What is your personal life motto or philosophy?
"My favorite quote of all time is from Forrest Gump. "Life is like a box of chocolates, You never know what you're gonna get" That is so true, and you have to learn to roll with the punches and take it day by day."

Every woman already finds it hard to balance work and home life; with a second life; and particularly a business…what advise can you give or how do you sustain some form of balance?
"Real Life is very stressful and hectic. Between RL work, husbands, kids, soccer games and activities, it can be very easy to lose yourself in it all. It is so important for a woman's mind and soul to take some personal downtime for themeselves each and everyday. Don't feel guilty doing something that makes you happy, in the long run, it will be better for everyone that is around you. Just try to keep a balanced harmonized schedule of RL and your SL obligations and have fun!"

Cherokee, Introduce yourself to us:
"I live in Ohio in the USA in RL and I love spending my free time on SL making wonderful things for the Native American community and all those who love the native American people and there culture."

Tell us more about your Second Life:
"Well I found out about SL through my RL mother who also played SL. Once I saw what it was all about all I wanted to do was get on SL and be who i am in RL a "Native American" ...live in a teepee and have a horse; and well find a hot Native American Man .. hehe... I think a lot of broke women who first come into SL are told that the only way to make money is to become a stripper. Well i did; and found out that stripping made me feel nasty and ugly inside and there was more to me then this... so i went out on a hunt for people who knew how to host so i could learn how. Did that for a good while and decided I wanted to become a DJ. For about a year i Dj'ed day and night to make money in SL and i loved doing it ... also it seemed to work out for me. But then, one day my RL/SL mother had this friend who so happen to make houses and such we went to visit him as he built one of his houses. My first question was ..."How do you get the walls to stay together?" well that's when i learned how to link two prims ..(Smiles) and from that day on i couldn't get enough - I had to know more and more... I visited a lot of Native American sims and had a few I had for my special picks and would visit daily. I began to notice how... well .... how the native people was being left out in quality i knew I couldn't make clothes or hair, but i had a friend who made jewelry and he showed me how and what to get, all that was to happen now was practice and lots of it !! .... so i worked day and night trying to make something nice.... Ladies would write me and say Cherokee, when are you going to make clothes and hair? I knew I wanted to, but never thought I would ever measure up to the big shots. I gave it a try and I do the best I can now... but at times i guess my biggest fear is ... I'm not good enough ... but i do try and i will never claim to be perfect but i love my fans and all the people who have helped me along my way and if it wasn't for them i don't think i could be where i am today."

How do you think your SL life plays a role in your RL and what it means to you...
"I make Native American clothing , hairs , jewelry and shoes... and now furniture......I'm all about the TODAYS' NATIVE ... meaning what would the todays native wear out and about in RL and in SL to a club or on a date or just to lay around in? .. and that is my goal to bring this to my people and those who love the native ways. I plan to be in SL till I can't breathe.. LOL.... and i will keep building and making things. Yes, I do it for the people but i also do it because i love it. It is nothing for me to spend all day on a project and sometimes weeks but I know when it is finished and i sit back and look at what I did I say ... wow did I really do that and yes after all this time I still say ... wow, I did that and I get so happy and pleased."

What do you see as your greatest achievement or the greatest event/happening since engaging in SL?
"My greatest achievement is the "drive" I have for what i am doing in SL ... I am so proud to be Native American and bringing that into SL; means more to me then you or anyone will ever know..smiles again when i sit back and look at all I have done sometimes i set in shock like ... I did it , I really did it... !"

What do you see as the biggest challenge for business people and in particular women in SL?
"Keeping up with the latest styles and creating something from the heart .. which is always a must ... "

What inspires, motivates and energizes you?
"My Motivation is who I am and how I can bring it to SL in the things i build ... Hobbies of course is building but I do enjoy watching movies in SL and spending time with the man I so deeply love with all my heart... the man of one year now in SL and stands beside me 100 % in all i do !"

What is your inspirational message to the Women of World?
"Don't ever let anyone tell you your not good enough or your trying to be perfect or special. You follow your heart , your desires and don't let anyone or anything hold you back! As a woman you a special person and can be as good as anyone ... and if you slip down the ladder you get right back up and you climb it again and again till you get to the top!"

What is your personal life motto or philosophy?
"Never be afraid to be who you are or afraid to say what you feel. Always show respect and kindness and never let anyone talk you down..."

Every woman already finds it hard to balance work and home life; with a second life; and particularly a business…what advise can you give or how do you sustain some form of balance?
"Well it is hard at times but I try not to forget I do have a RL; so work and children always come first but in my quiet times SL is my second home I find both a very special and important to who I am."

"The wind blows many ways for it is you who has to seek it out and find your path once you have friend-ed the wind the spirit shows you which way to go ... ... I wrote this awhile back it comes from the heart and is part of the spiritual feeling I carry with me every day." Cherokee

Anna, Introduce yourself to us:

(Title?) BE MYSELF, follow my passions

Anna Sapphire is... crazy, in a word =) lol but I think people perceive me as a kind and sometimes shy girl. They usually describe me as a very helpful and willing person.

I think that people who know me can also say that I always try to express my best, to be respectful to others and picky with myself... but when someone knows me better they can certainly say that I'm completely crazy =)

Tell us more about your Second Life:

I was looking for a place to develop my dreams and it was then that I found SL. One of my first friends here was a photographer and I started to model for him, then I met some models and I begun to know the SL Fashion world. I wanted to improve my skills and I decided to learn at modeling academies... and now I can say I'm a model, but I still have so much to learn.

Tell us about your passion, vision and goals…your activity in SL...

I'm mostly a model here in SL, I work for some agencies, magazines, stores and photographers. I'm also manager of a great designer (DD Style) and I spend my free time blogging, going to art exhibits or fashion shows.

Fashion, art and music are my passions in every life. While music remains just a RL passion, here in SL I have found the perfect behaviour to develop my fashion and art interests.

I feel very lucky to have met such wonderful people: models, artists, friends. My SL wouldn't be the same without their support.

How do you think your SL life plays a role in your RL and what it means to you...

Everything I do in SL is part of my RL life; I mean that I live deeply everything I do in SL, I take my job very seriously and SL for me is not just a game but a parallel world where I can explore interests that I have in RL and I can develop in this world. Fashion is my job and it's part of every life I'm living.

My goal? Just continue doing what I am doing, always better. I'm strongly persuaded that there is always something to learn and in every life we have never arrived, and I love to work on myself, to see myself learning and get better everyday more.

What do you see as your greatest achievement or the greatest event/happening since engaging in SL?

I can tell you that my greatest achievements are those moments in which you win a contest, a casting and so on, but I don't think they are most memorable moments.

Seriously, I think that every day spent here, doing what you like to do, is a memorable day, every single time you look at yourself and think "hey! I'm doing good, I'm not that bad"... Every single minute you feel happy with yourself is a memorable moment.

What do you see as the biggest challenge for business people and in particular women in SL?

The biggest challenge, not just in SL but in every life, is the challenge with oneself. The hardest challenge and the most interesting one is always try to surpass oneself, try to give every single minute your best and never never give up.

What inspires, motivates and energizes you?

My inspiration is... me =)  As I've said before, I reflect here in SL what I love most in RL. My inspiration is my creativity, my dreams, my willing to do everyday something new, to improve as model and person.

What motivates and energize me are my friends and my boyfriend, their continuous support in my darkest moments. My lovely friends and my wonderful boyfriend are the most precious treasure I have and I feel so blessed to have them.

What is your inspirational message to the Women of World?

Women, you are the strongest creatures, the most beautiful in your diversity and the most brave. Be yourself, always be yourself and don't be afraid even if people don't like it, be yourself. And be aware of your possibilities, be aware of your value.

What is your personal life motto or philosophy?

Never forget to dream. Everything is possible if you dream and never never give up.

Every woman already finds it hard to balance work and home life; with a second life; and particularly a business…what advise can you give or how do you sustain some form of balance?

Yes, sometimes it's hard to find a balance between private life and career. How can you find your balance? I don't think to be the right person to give you advices for this question, because everyone is and live this in a different way.

I can only say what I do in every life: I always find my time for my beloved ones. I care about my career but I always put my dearest people first.

I love your products Cherokee! I think you are an extremely creative and determined designer! You will go far.

Lynne, Introduce yourself to us:

I am the owner of Fantastic Furniture, Fantastic Interiors and an online social network, My Place...  Currently I work in SL part-time.

Tell us more about your Second Life:

I first knew about SL via a TV talk show in the UK approximately 3 years ago. I was inspired by the idea of being able to create absolutely anything in SL. Hence, I decided to mix my RL expertise into SL, by creating modern designer furniture.

Tell us about your passion, vision and goals…your activity in SL...

Being an interior designer in RL, I recognised a market for modern design in SL.

I decided to set up a contemporary furniture store and Interior design service, despite being advised strongly against it by various business professionals. Looking back, I’m really glad I followed my instincts and went ahead with the idea.

Fantastic Furniture sells contemporary designer furniture and Dream Homes. We offer full interior design services with free initial consultations.

My Place is a social network for SL avatars. It also offers advertising opportunities to SL/RL business owners.

How do you think your SL life plays a role in your RL and what it means to you...

My dream was and always has been to create beautifully realistic interiors.   I want my customers to really love their SL experience and so for me that means starting with a beautiful environment.  SL gives me the opportunities to push boundaries and to experiment with ideas and designs.

What do you see as your greatest achievement or the greatest event/happening since engaging in SL?

My greatest achievement since I started my company in SL, would be my ability to create works based on my vision, to experiment with designs and most importantly, to watch my ideas materialize into something that brings joy to a lot of people. Besides that, I also take pride in being able to supply the Lindens with furniture packages. It is a huge recognition when they purchase from us.

What do you see as the biggest challenge for business people and in particular women in SL?

I feel that the biggest challenge for business women, be it in SL or RL, is to be taken seriously.

What inspires, motivates and energizes you?

I am inspired by RL interior designs, and that would be reflected in my SL work as much as possible.

What is your inspirational message to the Women of World?

Trust your instincts and always enjoy what you do!

What is your personal life motto or philosophy?

Face your fears and live your dream!

Every woman already finds it hard to balance work and home life; with a second life; and particularly a business…what advise can you give or how do you sustain some form of balance?

I feel that in order to maintain a better work/home life balance, it is essential for me to stay away from my work (RL and SL), take the weekend off to relax. I would advise any working woman to do the same thing. People are usually more efficient and productive after a rest.

In Closing...

The Fantastic Furniture brand is growing rapidly. Currently, huge expansion plans are in place come 2011. I feel that it’s going to be a very exciting year. So as they say watch this space!  Join our group to get the latest updates!

Helen, Introduce yourself to us:

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen! My name is Helen Zhora. Sharing in SL’s diversity of cultures and ethnicities has broadened my horizons and deepened my understanding of my own African/Italian heritage. I was born in Nigeria, but I live in beautiful Italy.  At heart, I am a true romantic, with the deepest concern and regard for the well being of others.

In soul, my temperament is that of the artist, with an appreciation of imagination and creativity.

Tell us more about your Second Life:

I was was born into the world on Second Life on the 14/09/2007. A friend of mine introduced me to SL, before that day I had never heard of SL. The thing I love about SL is the freedom.

I started my jouney as a dancer, then a hostess in a Jazz club. In between I began to frequent a School of Models, which is called Moda Italy, where I got my first graduation as a "Top Model". Then I got another model certificate from Classic with Style University of Modelling and Charltina's Modelling Academy and Design School, where I am a model and a runway trainer in SL. I love everything that has to do with fashion.

I have been modelling for a year, and yet I know that I still have a LOT to learn about it. I keep practicing to be the best and perfect model I can be...I want to be perfect. Right now I work with an agency that satisfies me a lot.. ✼ I admire many persons in SL; but I'd rather be me, be unique ✼  ✼ Professional Model : Runway, Print, Video and Live ✼   If you require an experienced model please contact me.

Tell us about your passion, vision and goals…your activity in SL...

My goal is to win a major competition. I am participating in the Miss Moolto contest. I plan to enter as many contest as I can to get to the top. I would love to win first place in a styling contest or event!

How do you think your SL life plays a role in your RL and what it means to you...

I enjoy exploring, meeting people, dancing the night away. Always up for a new experience, and I have a good sense of humour.

What do you see as your greatest achievement or the greatest event/happening since engaging in SL?

Well the first event that happened to me in SL was the wedding of my "ex boss".  Omg the wedding was as real as RL. Can you believe I had my mouth open LOL. After the wedding I did part of the fashion show.

What do you see as the biggest challenge for business people and in particular women in SL?

What I can say about the challenge for business people, everybody wants to showcase and be the best, just like in RL.

What inspires, motivates and energizes you?

My inspiration in SL is women who despite having terrible family problems such as sick partners can come on line and show great love and affection despite their problems and still manage to be thoughtful kind loving and positive.

I am motivated by recognition for my hard work and the thought of a new shoot or show and that energizes me.

What is your inspirational message to the Women of World?

Never give up, work hard on those things you aren’t good at, don’t accept second best, don’t be beaten down, we aren’t second best, it’s a woman’s world!!!

What is your personal life motto or philosophy?

Be positive in the face of adversity!

Every woman already finds it hard to balance work and home life; with a second life; and particularly a business…what advise can you give or how do you sustain some form of balance?

Home life comes first if you try to deny this and struggle against it then you will only find problems.  Set aside times for SL and your business, set targets that you can meet, be realistic with yourself and be true to your family.  If you have 2 hours a day maximum then set your goals around that.  Don’t commit to anything you will possibly fail at.  Mostly be true to yourself and have fun!

Thank you to every amazing Moolto Sister who interviewed with us in December! Inspirational voices that is for sure!

FEATURED INTERVIEW - DECEMBER 2010!!!

FEATURED INTERVIEW

Alexandrea, Introduce yourself to us:

Hi everyone! I'm pleased to meet each and every one of you:)  I currently live in the Midwest butwill be making my way to the West Coast .. yay!! SL Time!! .. in the nearfuture. I love meeting new people, modelling, playing games, and hostessing/GMingfor Nic's House of Tunes.

Tell us more about your Second Life:

My boss/sis/best friend, Niccoli Sweetwater, and I played inanother virtual world called THERE.com. Unfortunately it shut down and Nic washere so I followed her. My RL background is in business advertising andmarketing so working as a hostess and general manager for Nic's House of Tuneshas been a perfect fit.

Tell us about your passion, vision and goals…youractivity in SL...

My passion is to be the best I can be with anything andeverything I set out to do, not only in RL but also in SL. Whether it is beinga hostess and general manager, modelling, or a friend, I give all of me 100%. Ihave tried to take the vision that Niccoli Sweetwater has created for Nic'sHouse of Tunes and help make it a reality. A classy, comfortable place whereyou can come relax, listen to live music, and meet new friends/loves withoutworrying about strict over-the-top rules of dress codes. Everyone is and willalways be welcome there. From the old souls of SL to the new ones. And everyonehas a friend there. So come on by and check us out!

How do you think your SL life plays a role in your RL andwhat it means to you...

My friends and family are most important to me. No matterwhat I'm doing, if they need me, I will drop everything to stand by them. Ibelieve our character, strength, and most of all our soul is moulded by thepeople we keep around us. I would have to say that my family, which includesNiccoli Sweetwater, Dale Lykin, bFlat Unplugged, Mystery Huntress, and MarloEdenflower are some of the best moulders and shapers in the world. They havebeen by my side no matter what I try to do and I'm happy to have them, in boththe hard times and the good times, thru the tears and laughter. I wouldn't givethem up for the world!

What do you see as your greatest achievement or thegreatest event/happening since engaging in SL?

If I look at my modelling career, I would have to say mybiggest achievement would be the contest I won that started me in the firstplace. It was for Mohna Lisa Couture and I'd like to thank Dolce Enderfield forgiving me the opportunity to jump into modelling by inviting me to joinDEJAVOGUE.

What do you see as the biggest challenge for businesspeople and in particular women in SL?

I think the biggest challenge for any man, woman, businessperson or lay person is to be detoured by lack of vision and discouraged bylack of results. The old adage still proves true; If at first you don'tsucceed, try try again.

What inspires, motivates and energizes you?

At the club, the thing that inspires me most is when I getan IM from a patron telling me what a good time they had. On the runway, mymotivation comes from the designers or runway host saying "greatjob!" And in my regular life, what fuels me is the love of my family andfriends.

What is your inspirational message to the Women of World?

Live life to the fullest, make memories and friends everyday, don't give up on love, faith or hope. And always, always put your all intoanything you go to do. Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.

What is your personal life motto or philosophy?

Live life to itsfullest, you never know when it is going to end!

FEATURED WOMAN INTERVIEW:

Brittainy, Introduce yourself to us:

I live in New York in RL and enjoy gardening, talking withfriends online, reading, baking, and being a part of the Society for CreativeAnachronism.  I am a 37year old woman whodeals with Epilepsy and PTSD on a regular basis.  I came to Second Life because it offered mean outlet into meeting others. A way to be myself in a manner that I found morerestricted to me in RealLife.  I didn'tnot come to Second Life as a way to live out a fantasy or meet the love of mylife, though after being a part of this community for the past 4 years I canunderstand the attraction it holds for many in that area. I instead wanted toreach out.  To make friends and meetothers who could understand how closeted I felt within my Real Life.

Tell us more about your Second Life:

Well for me coming to SL has always been a funny story.  My friend Feyth Ashbourne introduced me to SLwhen she saw I was growing bored with wow. In WoW I was a tailor and made clothes for the game.  I have always enjoyed fashion.  She spiked my interest when she told me Icould go shopping and meet people in SL. As far as my various interests in SL relating to RL they do very much soin that my disability at this time makes it such that I cannot work.

Upon arriving in Second Life I soon gained a job as an eventhostess for a renowned RP and social sim called Darkside.  I learned alot and was able to expand uponthis when I moved on from there.  InNovember of 2007 I became amodel for the Arai Modeling Agency.  I knew nothing about modeling. I wasfascinated with the idea and fashion.  Iwas really just a small town girl with big city dreams.  I worked hard to improve myself in themodeling field.  I also began to writescripts for the shows.  To me this was adream come true.  To be able to use mywriting talents and my Administrative Assistant background to bring aboutsomething productive within SL was something I had never thought possible.  October of 2008 saw a change for me as thiswas when I first opened Diversity Models. Through a lot of hard work from bothme and my team we made Diversity into what we dreamed it would be.  A modeling agency that stood apart.  One that was a non profit agency.  All models were profesional models within theFashion World.  We did not charge forshows and we focused on the designer instead of things such as Sets and who isin the spotlight.  I myself neverparticipated in the shows other then as a hostess.  I felt this was crucial as I was not there topromote myself rather the models and the clothing from the designer. In 2009again I took a step in furthering myself and my goals by being accepted intoBoulevard Agency and also as a Journalist for BOSLMagazine.  Though I am immensly proud of my time withBOSL and the great friends I made there I felt there was still more I coulddo.  In 2010 I became the CCO of the SFL(Second Life Footbal League)  and a cheercoach for the Comanche Nation Chiefs within the SFL.  Again my RL and SL were crossing.  Not only was I able to put my administrativebackground to even further use, but my oldest daughter has been an all starcheerleader in RLsince kindergarten. This was over 12 years of being a Cheer Mom.  My daughter was incredibly proud that I didthis.

Tell us about your passion, vision and goals…youractivity in SL...

I enjoy and promote the arts in SL.  There are so many talented and gifted peoplewithin this community of ours.  Fromthose who DJ to those who create content to Roleplayers.  Second Life allows us to spread our wings andreach the stars in such a way that Reality can not.  In Reality we have so many restrictions uponus.  Whether social restrictions, personal relationship restrictions, career restrictions to politicalrestrictions.  With Second Life we canevolve as a community of Arts.  Peoplegive so much of themselves it is hard not to stand back with awe and admirethem.  What I do in Second Life is trulymy career but at the same time it does not detract from my reality.  It simply becomes more.  Both intertwining and helping me to exploreall my potential and reach out to people that I would never have had the chanceto meet otherwise.

How do you think your SL life plays a role in your RL andwhat it means to you...

Please see the following links to my blog.

http://anamerican-voice.blogspot.com/

What do you see as your greatest achievement or thegreatest event/happening since engaging in SL?

I trulyfeel Second Life opens possiblities and allows one tobecome, simply put, more. The restraints of Real Life are lifted within thisVirtual World of ours. You can take simple talents that you would never havebeen able to go further with, and expound upon them.  I love the people I have met during my timehere and so many have become true Real Life friends, showing me that the linebetween Virtual and Reality blends and bends. I hope this helps in your consideration.

What do you see as the biggest challenge for businesspeople and in particular women in SL?

The challenge is to understand that though we have thefreedom to be who we wish we still have to respect each other.  Becoming a part of this virtual world doesnot mean we leave our morals at the doorstep upon creating an account.  I truly feel they Do onto Others is somethingthat should be valued and at times lost. A lot of time people within SL forget this and just say its just agame.  SL is not just a game it is acommunity.  People here give more ofthemselves then in reality.  In realitywe have the ability to just simply walk away. To hide behind masks.   In SL wedo not have that ability and as such we give more of who we really are.  Emotionally and Psychologically.  Many of us have RL families andchildren.  I always say to myself"would I wish my daughter to behave in this manner?" when I amdealing with others.  What we teach ourchildren in Reality is of value and we should hold ourselves to the samestandards.

What inspires, motivates and energizes you?

What inspires me is the people around me and mychildren.  I am not only their biggestsupporter but they are mine.   I am bytradition a nature person.  I find peacewith gardening and just getting in touch with the natural world around me.  As an Epileptic I am often restricted andwhen I see others in similar restrictions I find an overwhelming respect butalso a need to push myself to be more.

What is your inspirational message to the Women of World?

Be all that you can be but don’t loose yourself.  This is your second life.  Make it what you wish it to be.  In the words of Lewis Carroll from Alice inwonderland: "For both our oars, with little skill,

By little arms are plied,

While little hands make vain pretence

Our wanderings to guide.

Thus grew the tale of Wonderland:

Thus slowly, one by one,

Its quaint events were hammered out —

And now our tale is done

And home we steer, a merry crew,

Beneath the setting sun.

Alice! a childish story take,

And with a gentle hand

Lay it where Childhood's dreams are twined

In Memory's mystic band,

Like pilgrim's withered wreath of flowers

Plucked in a far-off land.

What is your personal life motto or philosophy?

"Never doubt the power of a small group of committedpeople to change the world. That's about the only way it has ever happened inthe past." Margaret Mead.

"Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself: I,not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choosewhich it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have justone day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it."

Every woman alreadyfinds it hard to balance work and home life; with a second life; andparticularly a business…what advise can you give or how do you sustain someform of balance?

To enjoy yourself.  Ifyou are not enjoying yourself and liking who you have become then this path isnot for you.  Do not loose track of whatis important to you.  Take time out inorder to simply be.

Tabby, Introduce yourself to us:

I'm 37yrs old and live in the North of England, my RL passion is fashion, photography and shopping, sadly most of my time is pretty much taken up with my job as an administrative assistant, but when I do have free time, there's nothing better than spending time with my family and pets.

Tell us more about your Second Life:

I came about second life whilst watching the evening news in march 2008, and one of the featured stories was about a couple that had met and fallen in love in a virtual world, they met in RL and eventually got married, it showed a few pictures of SL things and I was curious, so the same evening I looked it up on Google, signed up and never looked back.

Tell us about your passion, vision and goals…your activity in SL...

I don't have a business that I get paid for in SL lol, but I do like making skins and shapes, I just need to better my skills as there is so much good competitors out there for skins, also I do profile pictures for myself and friends, but I don’t consider myself good enough to charge just yet. I also sometimes help people change their image; I guess I'm a bit like a personal shopper, lol!

How do you think your SL life plays a role in your RL and what it means to you...

I guess I just enjoy doing things for people to make them happy, doing a few favours here and there can greatly change someone else's experience's, I have one very good friend who joined a month before I did and she is still with me now, and if it hadn't of been for that person being nice to me and helping me out and showing me around, I don’t think I would be here now, so I like to try and pay it forward, it doesn’t cost anything to give someone a landmark or a bit of advice, bonus is you get a good feeling because you know you made someone happy, it's not a business as such, but it helps make the SL world go round.

What do you see as your greatest achievement or the greatest event since finding SL?

My greatest achievement was getting a job as a photographer for a modelling agency, unfortunately it was short lived, but on the plus side i met some fabulous guys ‘n gals along the way.

What do you see as the biggest challenge for business people and in particular women in SL?

I think the biggest challenge these days in the world of business in SL is being unique and different in your designs but still creating something people will want, and it's very tough when some of these fabulous creators and designers are having their thoughts and ideas stolen and copy-botted.  I think the biggest challenge for the ladies of SL is trying to be taken seriously, and not just seen as a pretty avatar with nice clothes, it’s tough to make a name for yourself as a designer of SL.

What inspires; motivates and energizes you?

This sounds so corny but my friends are my inspiration, they’re the ones who make my SL whole,  they’re the ones who kick my ass into gear, when I’m hiding away in Photoshop or hovering in my home. Sometimes me and my SL sisters go to noobie sims, just to help out the newcomers who are still trying to figure out how to move, it’s not a hobby as such and is incredibly rewarding.

What is your inspirational message to the Women of World?

My message would be " Be yourself, you are beautiful inside and out regardless of your flaws (because no-one is perfect, believe me) and if someone won’t accept you for who you are, then they are not worth knowing".

What is your personal life motto or philosophy?

1. Life is not a dress rehearsal, live each day as if it was your last.

2. If you don’t ask, you will never know! (One of my dad's fav motto's lol )

Every woman already finds it hard to balance work and home life; then also with a second life; what advise can you give or how do you sustain some form of balance?

I’m afraid I’m the wrong person to ask for that, as I’m glued to the screen practically from the minute I get home to when I go to bed! lol, I have a wonderful hubby who makes my dinner nearly every night, just so he doesn’t have to tear me away from SL (how sweet is that, what a guy !!), fortunately my kids are not kids anymore and have their own lives, which leave me more time for SL, YAY !

In Closing:

Don’t be afraid to try new things, experiment and explore, never do anything you don’t want to, no do's mean no, a fabulous pair of shoes is always a must have (shopaholic talking here ! lol ) and treat people as you want them to treat you, in other words play nice boys ‘n girls, SL can be a wonderful experience with the right people at your side and I have met plenty that deserve the title of wonderful human being, just remember there is always a person behind the avatar.

Have a fabulous second life peeps!

Dagda, Introduce yourself to us:

I was born in Second Life in October 2008, from the first moment this life I wonder. I am a woman Spanish, very passionate, very enterprising and very curious, and too perfectionist. Almost since my early in this second life I decided which would be my development in this virtual world: fashion.

Lights, spotlights, catwalk, and nerves before the show, hair and clothing fabrics revolution I love!

It's a wonderful adrenaline up load!

I am a professional model of gateway, student indefatigable and curious with tremendous interest to acquire more knowledge

I have my school and my own modelling agency. I work at several agencies and also believe my fashion shows with designers from different countries and styles.

Tell us more about your Second Life:

In October 2008, remember that a brief report on virtual worlds, I read in a magazine in the is to mention among others to SL. It seemed interesting and I caused curiosity. At that time almost no available time to devote to this second life, but as I discovered this virtual world and all its possibilities, I was catching, I wonder do so much …… A real second chance!

Enter the world of fashion a Grand Dame of fashion Mely Gibbs, lovely hand.

This path was not easy, but very exciting, and each day is much more.

Looking for a school which provide classes in Spanish, (my first language), note that good schools that learn in a professional way, so I decided to teach what I had learned there are no to other people with enthusiasm and desire to be models.

Almost at the same time I realized account who should organize parades. Do and better equipment to which you have formed?

In Dagda Burner Models, we are dedicated to teaching techniques more advanced on the promenade in gateway, but we also carry out events where we print a special stamp: every show is different, each scenario is magical and intended for each event, because every designer creates a different style and deserves to be treated as unique and special.

Tell us about your passion, vision and goals…your activity in SL; and how do you think your SL life plays a role in your RL and what it means to you...

In addition to develop my own gateway for other large model work agencies, which I absorbed more time is my own business Dagda Burner Models and of course teaching new students joining our classes in Dagda Burner Trainer Models, because they bring that fresh air, such tremendous enthusiasm they me motivated, I push to create shows, to inspire me to organize large projects, they provide energy for the work in my life.

As I already live and breathe through my pores the modeling world, not only walking on a track, but living fashion show from the other side: the Organization of the backstage. Here is another one of my passions, help organize a group of models in the locker room. Help them see fantastic, to calm those moments of panic before on the show, to fight for every one of their problems and that shines wonderful on your walk around the track.

I have led as Runway Manager events as the “Fashion Alert”,

"Miss spain 2010" and of "Miss Latin 2011" organised by a great knowledge of the world of fashion and great person: Thalia Heckroth.

As all model I have that point of personal vanity, and need to upload my own self esteem to participate in some of the competitions that organize great brands and great designers. At this time I am participating in the competition "The Kings & Queens", a wonderful competition.

Times have been invited to work as a judge in other contests, as of "Le Charme Fashion” led by a great creator Ramona Planer, also in competition"Miss Canary 2010"and the last I participated"Miss Orbital 2011"." It is a great honour and a pleasure to have with me, also I am sincere, it is very hard having to assess in a few minutes who is the best of all the contestants.

What do you see as your greatest achievement or the greatest event since finding SL?

Is difficult to answer this question. Each of my achievements is special, each one has been worked with much sacrifice and effort. Links in a chain, they are fulfilled dreams.

Each of my works in DB Models only is, is like a table for a painter, a son!

My agency work are filmed by a great friend and video film, professional Flash white and remain there for our thoughts.

Create my own page on Youtube to recreate me seeing them, because they are part of my creative spirit by which all are special.

Although I must point out something, at the moment is my discovery through the world of photography and editing, I am learning and I love.

Well and respect to my work as a teacher, I cannot say more than each of my students is special, they are It my achievement more wonderful to see them shine in a track is exciting.

What do you see as the biggest challenge for business people and in particular women in SL?

I believe that the challenge is great for all the build second life without the negative aspects of our first life.

We have the opportunity, a second wonderful opportunity to leave behind the lies, the envy, good work, create a world people have with people and get the best of if same.

Women have a key role by our own vision of things, we are less selfish and nature have this maternal instinct we can give up part of us for the sake of others, that is only!;! in that spirit cannot carry out major projects, creative and constructive.

What inspires; motivates and energizes you?

I enjoy few times for leisure activities in my virtual life, but when I can, I love a good talk at home with my friends, I am quite prankster, and we spent a good while saying nonsense, now recharge my batteries. It is great to laugh, and laugh at yourself is one thing positive that humans can be used to put his life.

I of course for many of us love shopping and see the new collections designers and creators in SL, I am insane when I do; my visa made smoke! (Laughter)

So I have true passion is for accessories, ufff..., have a great collection, I love!

What is your inspirational message to the Women of World?

There is a small story my grandmother told me once and I would like to tell here, I think this is my best message for all.

Long ago, a King placed a large rock, hinder a path. Then he hid and looked to see if someone removed the tremendous rock. Some traders wealthy King and courtiers came and simply gave a return. Many blamed the King loudly not maintaining clear roadsides, but none did something to get the large road stone.

Then a peasant came and took a load of vegetables. Closer to the rock, the farmer put load on the floor and tried to move the rock on one side of the road. After push and fatigue much, so managed. While he gathered his load of vegetables, saw a portfolio on the ground, where had been the rock. The portfolio contains many gold coins and a note by the same King indicating that the gold was for the person you removed the stone of the path. The peasant learned what others never understood:

EVERY OBSTACLE PRESENTS AN OPPORTUNITY TO IMPROVE THE CONDITION OF ONE

What is your personal life motto or philosophy?

Free heart hatred.

Free mind concerns.

Try to live simply.

Give more.

Wait less.

And above all hope.

Every woman already finds it hard to balance work and home life; then also with a second life; what advise can you give or how do you sustain some form of balance?

This is the response of the million ufff...!

Difficult, very difficult but not impossible. (Laughter)

I do real juggling to combine my two lives, sometimes I find balance, others is almost impossible.

I have an important motto:

Everything I do is important, but who I want is more!

That makes me understand at each moment as organize me.

In Closing:

Thanks to all those people who have been in my virtual life accompanying me, encouraging me, helping me to be better person, and above all how much I want to thank.
